Why is the "modern era" of baseball so much better? What makes it more important than......?
pre modern era? The modern era of baseball is 1901 or 1947 to the present. Why should all the records from the 1869 (the start of the MLB) to 1900 not count or be less important? Anytime somebody asks a question about baseball records on this site, people respond by only using the modern era record. On the MLB Network prime 9 countdown show, all the records from before the modern era dont count. Why shouldnt it count? The spitball ban, lowering the pitching mound, foul strike rule, foul bunt strikeout, integration, DH, segregation, and more rules changes all took place during the modern era!
