Could i wear Contact Lenses? Im fourteen?

Yeah i just turned fourteen a week ago & I wear gles, I just figured that my eyesight isn't as bad as i thought it was. To be completely honest with you guys, im sick of wearing gles, they make me look horrible, weird and nerdy (not that its bad to look nerdy once in a while) but ive been wearing them for around.. idk four years? Ever since i got into fifth grade. & now im in ninth. Anyways, i live in Dubai and i dont know what theyre going to say if i go to the optrician and say i want lenses. I dont mind if theyre colored. I just want to not wear gles anymore. Do you think theyll allow me? And what are the PROS and CONS about wearing them? Thankss !! (: x
