Who exactly did he divorce?

My long time boyfriend’s wife left him for another person, and has been thru a long divorce, during which he has met me – we have been together almost 1 year and have plans to marry after the dust settles. His final divorce papers (signed by a judge) came a week ago, but his ex-wife’s name was spelled incorrectly. It took him a week to show me the papers after my urging (I thought it was weird that he didn’t show me right away) He did not seem the slightest bit concerned that her name was spelled incorrectly, and again, after my urging, he finally wrote a letter to his lawyers asking if this was an issue. I’m sure a typo is easy to correct, but wouldn’t you want to be sure you are divorcing the right person?
