Dictatorship????? (flag)?

Actually, the government (including your school) cannot force you to say anything. The First Amendment to the Constitution protects your right to say or not say anything, and it also protects your right to express your personal beliefs. If you don't believe in the Pledge of Allegiance (for example, you might believe it's a bunch of lies and propaganda, or perhaps you don't believe in God) then you don't have to say it. If you get in trouble with the school, don't let them tell you that you have to recite it. They're absolutely in the wrong. If they discipline you (detention or whatever), contact an attorney or the ACLU. Most likely, however, they won't do anything. The teacher might say something, but if you explain nicely to him or her that you don't believe in it, why you don't believe in it, and that you're exercising your Constitutional rights in good conscience, he or she probably will drop it right there. Who knows, your teacher might even agree with you.
