To be or not to be....?

So the BF and I were talking and he says he loves me but isnt in love with me...yet. 7 months and things have been going great...we've been throwing around the love word for awhile now...and now hes saying hes never been in love with me but he loves me? My whole world came down. And he still wants to be with me...which makes things even more complicated. What kind of love would make someone want to stay? Its got to be more than just a platonic love right? I just dont understand...can you be in a relationship and not be in love?
